Director Tim:
No point in arguing with "the stupid." A certain small subset of our population is only capable of cutting and pasting various Republican talking points.
Hey guys, Noah here, great show (saw it before), but since the YouTube server is down (apparently), I can't watch it (the one here also says: "We're sorry, this video is no longer available". I guess the Bushies caught wind of it lol)!
Anywhoo, in response to IndieFive00, if Iraq cuts us off from oil, huh, does this remind anyone of anything, or any TIME?
Back in the 70's, or so I hear from people of greater age than I, there was a shortage of oil.
Remember what happened?
We developed GREENER TECHNOLOGY.
Ring a bell, anyone?
Hey, the President of Iran sucks. Disclaiming the Holocaust is frightening. But he REALLY wants to stay in power. The Bushies say we have to attack Iran because they're helping Iraqi insurgents. I say, let's make peace with Iran. We get access to Iran, keep checking they can't make a nuclear bomb. And Shiite Iran helps restore order in Iraq, another Shiite majority country. Our troops come home, and we let the Shiite Iraq-Iran alliance keep out Sunni Al-Qaeda. We need to get off oil, anyway.
i fell asleep halfway through your first response. can't tell if you're being funny or not but you are thinking US mentality and not middle east mentality. iran has no interest in making peace. they can't wait for the kind-hearted, weak-minded liberals like jimmy carter to come into office and they're going to have a field day. i'm just saying it's too easy to look at a bad situation and say it's all bush's fault.
Well, it's not ALL Bush's fault. It's also Cheny, Rumsfed, Condi, Feith, Wolfowitz, Pearl, and a lot of others fault, too. Duh. But I will say this for your pals. I got really politically complacent in the 90's. The cold war was over, the deficit was receeding... I was into Zen. But thanks to Bush & Co.'s handling of Iraq, Katrina, U.S. Attorney's, Valerie Plame, and coming soon, Iran, I'm more politically active then ever. Bush made me into a better Democrat than Bill Clinton did. Thanks W.!5
Tim, director of "Fun With War Crimes" here. So I guess that makes you a McCain guy. I give him credit, he's at least been in combat. But he's too much of a true believer. Thinks we can with things like "honor." Still thinks we could have won Vietnam. Of course, I assume if we were still in Vietnam, we wouldn't have enough troops to be in Iraq, so maybe McCain is on to something.
i've been reading your posts. looks like you guys have really drunk the koolaid. i'll tell you what really terrifies me is thinking what would iraq be like if gore was in charge.
Iraq would look about the same as it did before the war. Impoverished (UN sanctions), with a total dick as it's leader. (Like about 1/3 of the world.) With terrible human rights abuses. But there would be no war, hundreds of thousands would still be alive. We wouldn't have messed up so many of our own soldiers, and we would have a few trillion extra dollars to spend more wisely. Wow! That sounds terrible!
the worst liberal fear is that you were wrong and bush was right all along. it's tough going right now but everyone fighting over there knew what they were getting into. and the world is going to look back and say yes it was messy but at least the US had the guts to take care of business.
If Iraq is someday a better country, it will be in spite of, not because of, our war. Here's an analogy. Let's say you're a family named "Iraq." And you've got this abusive dad we'll call "Saddam." I think you're being mistreated. And I think you've got oil, which I've got a thing for. My solution. I run a red light and slam into your family car. Boom! I kill the bad dad. Oh, sorry... looks like I killed your mom and brother, too. My bad. But I'm sure in the end, you're better off for it.
if hillary or obama get it and telegraph to our enemies that we are immediately pulling out, your going to see a civil war that's 100 times worse than you're seeing now. you have to look at the bigger picture with iraq and israel. if the bad guys get a hold of the iraq army or if iran jumps into the vaccuum then you can say goodbye israel and yes dammit this war is about oil. they can hold the planet hostage if they cut off the oil, so don't be so naïve
I share your concern. If we leave Iraq and things get worse, we should feel guilty. Guilty enough that in the future, we only get into wars that are truly necessary... like against the Red Coats, Nazi's, or Darth Vader. But seriously, it could get worse after we pull out. But until you can convince me the insurgents aren't just biding their time until we leave, and that we're not just killing time (literally) until Bush gets out of office so he didn't "lose," you can count me out.
